Why we started

It started with a running jump.

Yume means dream in Japanese. The idea came from two places. A few beds on our travels that we didn’t want to leave. And our kids, taking a running jump onto the biggest blanket in the house and lying there laughing, half swallowed by it.

We wanted that feeling at home, for grown ups. So we read almost 2,000 reviews and posts from people who had bought a cloud comforter somewhere else. The same story kept coming up. Tall in the photo, flat on the bed. “Expect about half of that,” one buyer wrote. A cover sold separately, with ties that tore off. One duvet stretched to cover a King and a Cal King. And when it went flat, the warranty called it wear and tear.

So we made the one we couldn’t find.

Who it’s for

For people who look forward to bed.

You make the bed, then stand in the doorway for a second just to look at it. At 11 you get under it, and it feels like being a kid under a very big blanket again.

People tell us three things after the first week. The bedroom finally looks like the photo they saved. The bed has quietly taken over from the sofa, for shows, books and lazy Sundays. And underneath, it’s soft and full without pinning them down. We have a name for that feeling. Too good to save for bedtime.

Cloud is our signature: warm but not hot, and made without feathers. Royal is 900+ fill power Canadian goose down, the warmest of the three, and still light for its warmth.
